Mike Preston, born Jack Davis on May 14, 1934, in Hackney, London, was an English-born entertainer who built a career spanning music, television, and film. He began as a singer in the United Kingdom, achieving three Top 40 hits including a cover of "Mr. Blue" in 1959, before emigrating to Australia where he worked as a nightclub singer and television host.

Preston transitioned to acting and became a familiar face on Australian television, with a starring role as Senior Detective Bob Delaney in the police drama Homicide from 1972 to 1973. He appeared in numerous television series including The A-Team, Airwolf, Scarecrow and Mrs. King, and Baywatch Nights. His film work included the science fiction B-movie Metalstorm: The Destruction of Jared-Syn and his best-known role as the settler leader Pappagallo in Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior (1981).

Preston died on June 8, 2026, in Florida at the age of 93. His death was confirmed by his wife, Josie Preston.
