Alexx Ekubo was born on 10 April 1986 in Rivers State, Nigeria, and grew up in Arochukwu, Abia State. He attended Federal Government College Daura and later studied law at the University of Calabar, before turning to acting. His first screen appearance came in Lancelot Imasuen’s 2003 film Sinners in the House, launching a prolific Nollywood career.

Ekubo became a household name through starring roles in popular films such as Weekend Getaway, Omo Ghetto: The Saga, and The Bling Lagosians. He earned numerous accolades, including a Special Recognition Award from Nigeria’s First Lady in 2018 and an honorary doctorate in arts and culture from the Institut Supérieur de Communication et de Gestion in Benin. In 2020 he was listed among the UN’s Most Influential People of African Descent under 40.
