Talay Riley, born Mark Olabanji A. Olayinka A. Orabiyi in London in 1990, began his music career as a teenager, signing his first major publishing deal with Global Publishing at age 18. He first entered the public eye in 2009 when he featured on rapper Chipmunk's single, which reached number seven on the UK Singles Chart.
Riley went on to sign with Jive/Sony Records and released a mixtape, "Going to California," in 2011. He wrote and performed the popular track "Make You Mine" and toured with prominent UK and US acts, including Skepta, Usher on his arena tour, and Trey Songz, establishing himself as a respected songwriter and performer.
On 5 June 2026, Riley was tragically stabbed to death in Silvertown, London, at the age of 35, ending a promising career in the music industry.
