Afonso Luiz Schreiber was a Brazilian entrepreneur from Santa Catarina who founded Taschibra, a lighting products company established in Indaial, in the Vale do Itajaí region. Originally called Brasilux, the company grew under his leadership into one of the principal lighting industries in Latin America, producing millions of light fixtures annually and expanding its operations to several countries including Paraguay, Uruguay, Bolivia, Chile, and Mozambique.
Under Schreiber's direction, Taschibra diversified its product lines, including LED lighting and handcrafted glass chandeliers, and invested in expanding its industrial and administrative facilities. The company also maintained social projects, such as employing inmates from the Advanced Prison Unit of Indaial, and sponsored local sports teams including its own futsal team and regional soccer clubs.
Schreiber died in August 2026, with his death confirmed by the company he founded. His farewell ceremony was held in Blumenau, in the same region where he built his business career.
