Alexsandro Gusmão Duarte, widely known as Sandrinho do Som, was a Brazilian politician serving as a vereador (city councilor) of Tanguá, a municipality in the metropolitan region of Rio de Janeiro. He was in the exercise of his elected mandate at the time of his death, and the Tanguá city council declared three days of official mourning and suspended its activities in his honor.
On the night of Thursday, August 20, 2026, Duarte was shot and killed inside a bar in Tanguá. According to police, at least three men in a black car fired at him, and rifle shell casings were found at the scene. His brother was also wounded in the attack and taken to a hospital in Rio Bonito. The homicide division investigating the case had not identified suspects or a motive at the time of reporting.
Duarte was taken by bystanders to a health unit in Rio Bonito but arrived without vital signs. His death prompted the city council to hold a minute of silence at its first legislative session following the killing.
