Particulars

Caterina Bottari Lattes served as president of the Fondazione Bottari Lattes from its founding in 2009 until her death in 2026. The foundation was established to promote knowledge of the work of her husband, the painter, writer and publisher Mario Lattes, with whom she shared thirty years of life.

Under her leadership, the foundation became a cultural crossroads that hosted art exhibitions and photography displays featuring major Italian and international artists including Carlo Levi, Italo Cremona, Carol Rama, and Amedeo Modigliani. She also developed the foundation's literary initiatives, most notably the Premio Lattes Grinzane, which attracted distinguished writers such as Haruki Murakami, Jonathan Safran Foer, Margaret Atwood, Ian McEwan, Amos Oz, and Claudio Magris.

Her vision emphasized bringing young people closer to culture through initiatives like Vivolibro, a program dedicated to children, school juries participating in the literary prize, and support for the Premio Traduzione Poetica established by the University of Turin. For nearly twenty years, the foundation's headquarters served as a venue for beauty and cultural promotion.
