Edson Carvalho Ferreira, known publicly as Edinho do Combate ao Câncer, was a Brazilian lawyer and politician from Uberlândia, Minas Gerais. He served as a city councilman (vereador) representing the Democrata party and held various public positions throughout his career, including roles in the municipal secretariats of Urban Services and Environment.

Beyond his political work, Ferreira was deeply involved in social activism. He presided over the Lagoinha neighborhood Residents Association and founded the Association for Assistance to Cancer Patients of Triângulo Mineiro (AAPCTM), an organization dedicated to supporting cancer patients and their families in the region. He also worked as a parliamentary advisor at the Legislative Assembly of Minas Gerais.

Ferreira died at age 49 on August 6, 2026, when he was found deceased at his residence in the Lagoinha neighborhood of Uberlândia. The cause of death was not immediately disclosed, and civil police were investigating the circumstances.
