Fiorenza Marchegiani was born on 31 July 1953 in Osimo, Italy. She began her career on stage at the Stabile di Genova, performing in productions such as "La foresta" and Goldoni's "I due gemelli veneziani". In 1981 she achieved national recognition by playing Marta in Massimo Troisi's debut film "Ricomincio da tre", a role that marked her entry into cinema. After her film debut, Marchegiani worked primarily in television, appearing in long‑running soap operas and series such as "Vivere", "Incantesimo", and "Elisa di Rivombrosa". She also took supporting roles in films like "Natale a New York" (2006) and "D'Annunzio" (1985). Throughout the 1990s and 2000s she remained a familiar face on Italian television, contributing to the country's popular culture through a steady stream of character roles. Marchegiani passed away on 11 August 2026 at the age of 73, after a career spanning over four decades in theatre, film, and television.
