João Chaddad
1935–2026João Chaddad was a Brazilian architect and politician who served two terms as vice-mayor of Piracicaba and designed significant public works in the city.

João Chaddad was born in 1935 and graduated in architecture from Universidade Presbiteriana Mackenzie in 1962. He built a career as an architect and urbanist, designing significant public works in Piracicaba including the Igreja da Imaculada Conceição (Matriz da Vila Rezende), Biblioteca Municipal Ricardo Ferraz de Arruda Pinto, Pinacoteca Municipal Miguel Dutra, Centro de Reabilitação de Piracicaba, and the Marco da Bandeira in Praça José Bonifácio.
Chaddad entered public service as coordinator of Obras e Serviços Públicos for Piracicaba's city government from 1972 to 1973. He held multiple municipal secretary positions including Obras, Trânsito e Transportes, Governo, Defesa e Meio Ambiente, and Ação Cultural. He also presided over the Instituto de Pesquisas e Planejamento de Piracicaba (Ipplap).
He served as vice-mayor of Piracicaba in two separate administrations: from 1997 to 2000 under Humberto de Campos, and from 2013 to 2016 under Gabriel Ferrato. Chaddad also worked as a university professor at the Escola de Engenharia de Piracicaba from 1972 to 1977 and taught architecture at Universidade Metodista de Piracicaba in 2001. He died in August 2026 at age 91.
