Departures of note

Michela Monari was an Italian volleyball player who competed as a middle blocker during the 1990s. She played for several Serie A clubs including Bologna, Modena, Rubiera, and Reggio Emilia, achieving particular success with Anthesis Modena where she won the Coppa delle Coppe three times. Monari represented Italy 79 times at international level, winning a bronze medal at the 1992 European Under-19 Championships and competing at the 1994 World Championships and 1997 European Championships with the senior national team. After retiring as a player, she became a volleyball coach. Her daughter Lisa Monari Gamba followed in her footsteps, becoming an MVP at the European Under-18 Championships.
