Oihane Mateos was a journalist and broadcaster for EITB, the Basque public radio-television network. She worked as a reporter and presenter on the news programs Gaur Egun and Teleberri, becoming a familiar face in Basque media.
She also directed the program De Boca en Boca on ETB2. In 2022, she was appointed head of EITB's Digital News area, where she led the network's web and social media news services and launched the Orain digital news platform under her direction.
Mateos died on August 9, 2026, at the age of 45.
