Pavala Shyamala, born Nethi Shyamala, was a Telugu actress who began her film career in the mid‑1980s, making her debut with the movie Babai Abbai in 1985. Over more than three decades she appeared in a long list of supporting roles across Telugu cinema, featuring in films such as Swarnakamalam, Karthavyam, Indra, and many others, becoming a familiar face in the industry.

Her career spanned from the mid‑1980s to the 2010s, during which she contributed to over a hundred films, often portraying motherly or character parts that added depth to the narratives. Though she never achieved leading‑star status, her consistent presence made her a recognized supporting actress within the Telugu film community.

Shyamala faced significant personal hardships, including the loss of her husband shortly after the birth of her daughter and prolonged financial distress. Public figures such as actor Pawan Kalyan and Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao later provided financial assistance and a government pension, highlighting both her struggles and the industry's support for her.

In her later years she suffered from severe health problems. She was admitted to Osmania Hospital in Hyderabad for treatment and died there at the age of 75. Her death prompted tributes that recalled her extensive body of work and the challenges she endured.
