Shigeo Mihara was a Japanese rock drummer who gained prominence in the 1980s Japanese rock scene. He was a founding member of Rosa Luxemburg, a rock band formed in Kyoto in 1983 that won the NHK Young Music Festival gold award in 1984. The band released several singles and albums before disbanding in 1987.
After Rosa Luxemburg, Mihara continued his career as a drummer with other notable Japanese rock bands including The Roosters and The Stalin. He also worked as a drum tuner, contributing to the Japanese music scene through his technical expertise with numerous bands.
Mihara died on July 31, 2026, at a hospital in Tokyo at the age of 66, following treatment for lung cancer. His death was announced on August 5, 2026, by his sister through his X account.
