Shiraishi Toen, born Tomoko Shiraishi in 1950, was a prominent Japanese calligrapher known for her contributions to the art of shodō. She adopted the pen name "Toen" and became a respected figure within the calligraphy community.

She served as a member of the judging committee for the Mainichi Calligraphy Exhibition, one of Japan's most prestigious calligraphy contests, and held the position of director at the Japan Calligraphy Association. In addition, she was the representative of the calligraphy research organization Shodō Kenkyū Yūseisha, promoting the study and appreciation of calligraphy.

Throughout her career, Shiraishi was celebrated for her elegant brushwork and dedication to preserving traditional calligraphic techniques while encouraging contemporary expression. Her leadership roles helped shape the direction of Japanese calligraphy in the late 20th and early 21st centuries.

Shiraishi Toen passed away on August 9, 2026, at the age of 76 after an illness. Her funeral services were held in Tokyo, and she is remembered for her artistic legacy and service to the calligraphy community.
