Particulars

Víctor Coyote, born Víctor Aparicio Abundancia in Tui (Pontevedra) in 1958, was a multifaceted Spanish artist known as a musician, painter, writer, and designer. He moved to Madrid in the late 1970s to study fine arts, where he became part of the vibrant cultural ferment of the Movida madrileña.

In 1979 he founded the band Los Coyotes, which began as icons of local punkabilly before evolving into leading exponents of Latin rock in Spain during the mid-1980s. The group was pioneering in introducing Latin rhythms into Spanish rock, and Víctor Coyote was regarded as a key figure in the Madrid music scene of that era, even as he never fully fit into the mainstream of the Movida.

Beyond music, he was also recognized for his work in painting, design, and audiovisual production, establishing himself as a versatile and distinctive creative voice in Spanish culture.
